Ernst Barlach - Friedensreich Hundertwasser
Die ruhigen, aus sich heraus lebenden Figuren Barlachs und die farbintensiven Bilder Hundertwassers fließen förmlich ineinander. Ein besonderes Kunsterlebnis.
Ernst Barlach Museum Ratzeburg
Ernst Barlach and Friedensreich Hundertwasser enter to an unusual and surprising connection in this exhibition. Barlach's calm, self-contained figures and Hundertwasser's intensely colorful paintings literally flow into one another, giving the viewer an incomparable experience of art.
While Barlach was focused entirely on the simple, unadulterated image of humankind, Hundertwasser's work is based on restoring the balance between man and nature. Hundertwasser's works are explanatory images for the re-encounter of man and nature to the same extent as they are research instruments with which solutions for a new becoming of nature of man are proposed.
The spiral is the most frequent motif in Hundertwasser's works, and he returns again and again to this symbol of the cycle of life. The vegetative spiral embodies the natural process and the living in his art. It stands for journey - path - freedom and abstraction, but it also stands as a symbol for the personal development of the artist, for whom the process of creation, the process of life and the process of reflection should coincide into one.
The exhibition: "Ernst Barlach - Friedensreich Hundertwasser" was realized in close cooperation with private lenders.
